Care you can count on.

Three programs, run entirely by volunteers, offered freely to our community for over twenty years. Here is exactly what each one is, and how to take part.

Welfare Services

When life turns difficult — illness, grief, financial strain, the loneliness of a new country — no one in our community should face it alone. Our volunteers provide confidential pastoral care and practical help, quietly and without judgment.

Everything is free and confidential. You do not need to be Buddhist, or a member, or anything at all — you only need to reach out.

  • Confidential pastoral care and counselling visits
  • Food hampers during Tết and festive periods
  • Referrals to health, housing and settlement services
  • Support for elders, new migrants and families in hardship
  • Bilingual help — Vietnamese and English

Summer Retreat

Every January, we gather for five days away from the noise — a residential retreat for youth and families built around mindfulness, chanting, Dharma talks and long shared vegetarian meals.

Children make friends in two languages. Parents exhale. Elders tell stories. By the final day, strangers have become something closer to family — which is rather the point.

  • Five-day residential retreat each January
  • Open to youth, families and first-timers
  • Mindfulness, chanting and Dharma talks
  • All vegetarian meals prepared by volunteers
  • Offered freely; donations welcome, never expected

Buddhism Study Group

Each week, our study circle meets to explore the heart of Mahayana teaching — slowly, bilingually, and always with an eye to daily life. What does compassion look like in traffic? What does mindfulness mean at a busy kitchen bench?

No prior knowledge needed. Bring your questions, your doubts and your whole self; tea is always on.

  • Weekly circles, Vietnamese and English
  • Core Mahayana teachings made practical
  • Chanting practice for beginners and beyond
  • Discussion, questions and shared experience
  • Free and open to all — just come along
